Boston College Externship Program

Boston College Externship Program and Jobs
Students at Boston College have an opportunity to preview their career by applying for an externship position. The externship program is designed to give students a chance to spend time at an organization within their field of study.

The externship program is generally a one-day experience but could be longer. Students may choose a company and apply for an externship through the college's Career Center. Once the organization and the student have been matched, students may contact the employer for more details on the position.

Some of the activities students will participate in include touring the facility, talking with employees, finding out about career paths within the company, learning more about their business goals and objectives, and reviewing future trends for the industry. Students will be able to observe the day-to-day functions of the company and gain a clearer perspective on what it would be like to work there full-time.

Students may inquire at the college's Career Center for more information about externships. The Career Center provides students with career counseling and offers career-preparation services such as writing a resume, interview preparation, workshops and career events.

The location is usually in MASSACHUSETTS.
