Catholic University of America Legal Externship Program

CUA Legal Externship Program
Catholic University of America (CUA)Externships are offered in the Fall, Spring and Summer for students at the Catholic University of America who have completed their first year of law school. The externship is a combination of coursework and classes along with an assignment working with a legal firm, government agency or non-profit organization.

Each year, the CUA Legal Externship Program places over 200 students in externship positions with non-profit organizations, government agencies, congressional offices, judges, law firms, trade associations and corporations. Law students are able to use their knowledge in a workplace setting and explore their career opportunities. Interns work with lawyers and are also assigned a mentor who will review the student’s progress throughout the externship.

Student externs will assist in representing clients and perform a variety of law-related work. In addition, interns will complete program seminars and other education that increases their knowledge of legal and professional issues. The externship is unpaid.

Columbus School of Law, part of the Catholic University of America, has been offering legal education to students since 1897.

The location is usually in DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA.
