Keiser University Clinical Externship Program is for students enrolled in the Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology Program. All externship positions are located in in Palm Beach, Broward, or Miami-Dade counties, Florida.

Students must first complete all eight core courses in Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology before they can apply. They must also maintain a grade point average of 2.0 or above. Students will work as trainees at externship sites to gain practical experience in their field. Each extern will complete two 160-hour terms at their externship site.

Externs are supervised and evaluated by professionals at the work sites. Each student is assigned an externship that meets their skills and place of residence. Externs will be responsible for keeping records of their externship experience. Hours will vary depending on mutual agreement between externs and their supervisors.

The externship is a requirement for all students enrolled in the Sports Medicine and Fitness Technology program at Keiser University. The length of the externship is two months.

The location is usually in FLORIDA.

Mayo Clinic Externships

Mayo Clinic Externships are available to current college students as well as recent graduates who want an opportunity to gain more experience in a health care environment. Externships are offered within several different disciplines. Whether students are looking for experience in the field of medicine, providing software and technology support, or developing health and other programs for the clinic, they are sure to find an experience that will enrich their classroom learning.

NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Externships are for nursing students currently enrolled in a BSN program. Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part-time nursing positions for nursing students.

Corporate VC & Business Analytics Remote Externship

Overview This is an exciting externship where students can experience first-hand what it feels like to be part of a Fortune 100 company. As investors, venture capitalists (VCs) are investing in new ideas, innovations, and most importantly teams, where do they begin? This is called deal sourcing. Externs will profile startup companies, learn what VCs look for, and be a part of investing in the next generation of technology. HP Tech Ventures is seeking ambitious students to help research relevant pre-seed stage startups for deal sourcing and evaluation. This project includes special data analytics projects that allow students to practice using analysis tools to perform business model, strategy, and value chain analysis. Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) U.S. Externships offer foreign medical students a hands-on clinical program that matches residency program requirements. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

Bain & Company offers students who have graduated from college a unique career in corporate strategy consulting. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Following a six-month externship, consultants return to Bain with increased skills as a consultant and enhanced knowledge of other industries.

UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program offers work experience to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of nursing school. The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Geisinger Health System offers unpaid non-clinical externship opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students interested in careers within the health care industry. The externships are offered in many areas of study. Externships give students an opportunity to observe and learn more about career occupations in the health care system. The positions are unpaid; students may receive college credit for completing externships. A grade point average of 2.5 or 3.0 is required, depending on the position. Each position will also have its own skills and course level requirements.

Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Students interested in applying must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting. Student Nurse Externs work 16 hours bi-weekly and must also be available to work different shifts, holidays and weekends if necessary. The work environment is casual and the work schedules are flexible so students can continue uninterrupted with their studies.
