United States District Court for the Central District of California Externship

The United States District Court for the Central District of California offers externships in the Fall and Spring to second- and third-year law students. The externships can be either part-time or full-time work opportunities.

Externships give law students a unique opportunity to test their skills in the field of law while still attending classes. They will gain hands-on experience in researching cases, analyzing case files and motions, and perform a variety of other legal functions in the Central District Court of California.

To qualify, students must be in their second or third year of law school. They must have excellent writing skills and experience in research and writing. Completion of a thesis or dissertation will quality as writing experience.

To apply, students need to complete the application and include a cover letter, resume, two references, college transcript and writing samples.
