The Florida Aquarium Veterinary Externship

The Florida Aquarium Veterinary Externship
The Florida Aquarium Veterinary Externship is open to veterinary students in their fourth year of school. Students may apply during their junior or third year of veterinary school.

Externs will gain valuable hands-on experience in exotic animal and aquatic medicine. The externship lasts 4-8 weeks and includes observing and assisting with medical procedures on fish, birds, otters, penguins, sea turtles, and other reptiles.

This externship is unpaid and for experience only. Students are also responsible for making their own transportation and living arrangements. Externs work 40 hours per week for a minimum of four weeks; preference is given to students who can work 6-8 weeks. To apply, students can submit an online application and include a resume, transcripts and two letters of recommendation. The application should indicate the dates when the student will be available to work.

Why not apply for an externship and internship?
