The 18-week program runs from April through October and provides culinary students with an exceptional training experience at one of the most prestigious private clubs in the world. Externs will be taught by an Executive Chef and work in state-of-the-art kitchens preparing hot and cold foods, appetizers, desserts, and learning how to cook for banquets and catering events.
Whether students are pursuing careers in catering, hospitality, food service companies or preparing to be chefs in fine restaurants, the externship will give them an opportunity to put their skills to work and explore career options. They will also make important contacts that could lead them to their dream job.
Students attending the Star Career Academy are required to complete an externship before graduating. They may choose from many exciting venues such as restaurants, catering services, hotels, corporate dining rooms, country clubs, bake shops, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and conference centers.
Students have many opportunities to choose an exciting environment where they will learn from experienced professionals. Students interested in careers in the culinary arts, baking and pastry may select from some of the finest restaurants in various cities such as New York, California, Washington D.C., Miami, New Orleans and more.
