This job involves a Nurse Extern role with continuous employment until graduation from an RN program. Responsibilities include supporting medical staff, observing and documenting patient needs, providing emotional support, assisting with nursing interventions, and maintaining equipment. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, enrollment in an ASN or BSN program, completion of one adult care clinical rotation, and certification in AHA BLS-HCP within 90 days of hire. The position is with Carilion Clinic, a not-for-profit health system based in Roanoke, Virginia, known for its medical facilities and research institute.
