Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technician/nursing students focused on hands-on emergency medicine experience. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (Veterinary Nurses) to hone skills like patient vitals, laboratory processing, and patient care in a customer-centric environment. The program provides flexibility in externship length and location, emphasizing mentorship and immersion in emergency medicine. Applicants must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, have rabies vaccination, and begin the externship within 6 months.
