Gwinnett Medical Center Nurse Extern Program is available to nursing students enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Candidates must be in good academic standing and be in their last year of nursing school.

Externs will gain valuable clinical knowledge and skills through the summer externship and receive experience in Oncology, Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Orthopedic/Surgical Specialties, Emergency Services, Neuroscience and Spine, ICU, Labor & Delivery, Mother/Infant, NICU, High Risk Pregnancy Unit, Surgical Services, and Nursing Imaging.

The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

BluePearl Veterinary Partners Externship invites veterinary students to visit any one of their veterinary hospitals to gain greater insight into the field of veterinary medicine. Externships are available in several states. 

By participating in an externship, veterinary students will work with specialists, residents, interns, and senior emergency clinicians. The externships last up to two weeks and give externs an overview of all aspects involved in the medical treatment of animals.

Bain Externships are offered to consultants currently working at Bain & Company, a managing consultant services company headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The externship offers consultants an opportunity to work for another company for six months to gain more experience.

The program is offered to help Bain consultants strengthen their skills and increase their knowledge about the way other companies do business. Consultants work for a company of their choice, and then return to Bain. Company choices include consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofits, startup companies, and many more.

Emory University School of Law Externship Program gives students practical experience outside the classroom and a glimpse into the real world of law practice. It is open to second- and third-year law students.

Eligible students accepted into the program work a total of 120 hours in a field placement and receive 3 hours of college credit; the externship is unpaid.
