Mayo Clinic Externships are available to current college students as well as recent graduates who want an opportunity to gain more experience in a health care environment. Externships are offered within several different disciplines. Whether students are looking for experience in the field of medicine, providing software and technology support, or developing health and other programs for the clinic, they are sure to find an experience that will enrich their classroom learning.

Real World Externships for Teachers of Mathematics, Science and Technology are paid, full-time temporary externships for teachers. The 6-week externships help teachers learn more about educating their students in the areas of mathematics, science and technology-related fields. Teachers will have the opportunity to work with professionals at various businesses and organizations throughout Iowa. Some of the participating businesses have included Boehringer-Ingelheim, John Deere, Lennox, Monsanto, Pella, Principal Financial, Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, various zoos, and many others.
