This job description is for the Duke University Health System Summer 2024 Professional Nurse Assistant (PNA) Program. It's a 10-week paid program designed for rising junior and senior nursing students. Participants work closely with RNs, gaining clinical experience, performing nursing assistant duties, and assisting with patient care. Requirements include being a junior or senior in an accredited nursing program, current registration with the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry, and a commitment to working 36-40 hours per week throughout the program. The role involves various tasks, from patient care to record-keeping and requires good communication skills and adherence to safety protocols. Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Students interested in applying must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting.
