Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for vet tech/nursing students enrolled in AVMA accredited programs. Students gain hands-on experience in emergency medicine, working alongside credentialed veterinary technicians. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, focusing on honing emergency skills such as patient care, triaging, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Rabies vaccination is required unless the school's policy allows handling unvaccinated animals.
