Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program aimed at providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine for vet tech/nursing students. The program focuses on honing emergency skills such as patient vitals, laboratory sample processing, and patient care in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses). Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, vaccination for rabies, and externship initiation within 6 months of application.
