VEG offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. This unpaid opportunity provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, focusing on skills like patient care, triage, and laboratory procedures. Students work alongside experienced emergency veterinary technicians (Veterinary Nurses), choosing the length and location of their externship to meet school requirements. Rabies vaccination is required, unless exempted by the school's policy.
