Respiratory Externship Program

Respiratory Externship Program
Respiratory Externship Program is open to students currently enrolled in an accredited program and working towards a degree in professional respiratory care. The externship program provides students with skills, knowledge and experience in pediatric respiratory care.

The externship program requires students to have a grade point average of 3.4 or above and be in their junior year of college. The extern program also requires students to work one clinical shift a week after they have completed the didactic portion of their respiratory program.

The entire externship program is 16 weeks long. After completing the program, externs will receive a Certificate of Completion for the Pediatric Respiratory Externship Didactic Program. To apply, students must complete an application and submit it along with transcripts, a letter of recommendation, and a cover letter stating their reason for wanting to be accepted into the externship program.

Externships are offered and completed at Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Children's Medical Center is a private, non-profit center dedicated to treating children from birth to age 18. It is also a center for pediatric kidney, liver, intestine, heart and bone marrow transplants.

The location is usually in TEXAS.
