U.S. Chamber of Commerce Next-Gen Scholars Program

The Next-Gen Scholars program exposes students from historically black colleges and universities and minority-serving institutions to the world of business, public policy, government affairs and advocacy through spring internships at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, member companies and trade associations, thereby contributing to the development of the next generation of diverse business leaders. The Spring Next-Gen Scholars Internship Program dates are Monday, January 25 - Friday, April 30 2021. 

To apply for the Spring Next-Gen Scholars Internship Program, view our current openings and select up to two department preferences. Once you have selected which departments you wish to apply for, send your resume and completed application to internships@uschamber.com. 

In the subject line of your email, indicate the two internship positions that you are applying for. For example: "International Affairs intern and Policy Intern".

Applicants are selected on a rolling basis, and internships will remain open until filled.

They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part-time nursing positions for nursing students.

Bain & Company Externships

Bain & Company offers students who have graduated from college a unique career in corporate strategy consulting. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Following a six-month externship, consultants return to Bain with increased skills as a consultant and enhanced knowledge of other industries.

Foreign Medical Graduate U.S. Externships

Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) U.S. Externships offer foreign medical students a hands-on clinical program that matches residency program requirements. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

Corporate VC & Business Analytics Remote Externship

Overview This is an exciting externship where students can experience first-hand what it feels like to be part of a Fortune 100 company. As investors, venture capitalists (VCs) are investing in new ideas, innovations, and most importantly teams, where do they begin? This is called deal sourcing. Externs will profile startup companies, learn what VCs look for, and be a part of investing in the next generation of technology. HP Tech Ventures is seeking ambitious students to help research relevant pre-seed stage startups for deal sourcing and evaluation. This project includes special data analytics projects that allow students to practice using analysis tools to perform business model, strategy, and value chain analysis. Georgetown Law Externships

Externships are a great way for law students at Georgetown University to experience working in law within the public sector. Training external to the classroom is available through the unpaid externship program that allows students to work in various work environments. Students accepted into the externship program may choose to work for the federal government, on the Hill, in judicial chambers, or in local or national non-profit agencies. Students must have completed one year of coursework before applying. They must also complete the course requirements in order to be eligible to participate in the program.

UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program offers work experience to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of nursing school. The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse. Students interested in applying must have completed at least one clinical rotation in an acute care setting. Student Nurse Externs work 16 hours bi-weekly and must also be available to work different shifts, holidays and weekends if necessary. Winter externships run from June - December, and Spring externships run from December - May. Externships are offered in Cardiac Observation, Emergency Care Center, Medical/Surgical, Medical/Surgical Intensive Care, Neuroscience/Stroke, Observation Care Center, Oncology, Ortho/Spine, Telemetry, and Vascular.
