Corporate VC & Business Analytics Remote Externship
This is an exciting externship where students can experience first-hand what it feels like to be part of a Fortune 100 company. As investors, venture capitalists (VCs) are investing in new ideas, innovations, and most importantly teams, where do they begin? This is called deal sourcing. Externs will profile startup companies, learn what VCs look for, and be a part of investing in the next generation of technology. HP Tech Ventures is seeking ambitious students to help research relevant pre-seed stage startups for deal sourcing and evaluation. This project includes special data analytics projects that allow students to practice using analysis tools to perform business model, strategy, and value chain analysis.
Research start up metrics, industry data, team, and business models
Determine product differentiation and strategy across startups
Construct market maps across various startup sectors
Manage data using data cleaning methods and tools such as Open Refine
Calculate and analyzing data using Excel and SQL to find summary values and trends
Present and correlate the data using data visualization techniques include charts
Recommend attractive start ups for further investment due diligence
Ambitious students interested in pursuing careers in venture capital, entrepreneurship, and consulting.
NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Externships are for nursing students currently enrolled in a BSN program. Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Positions are offered as a Nursing Attendant, Nursing Companion or Summer Nurse Externship. All are part-time nursing positions for nursing students.
Mayo Clinic Externships are available to current college students as well as recent graduates who want an opportunity to gain more experience in a health care environment. Externships are offered within several different disciplines. Whether students are looking for experience in the field of medicine, providing software and technology support, or developing health and other programs for the clinic, they are sure to find an experience that will enrich their classroom learning.
Foreign Medical Graduate (FMG) U.S. Externships offer foreign medical students a hands-on clinical program that matches residency program requirements. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.
UCLA Health Nursing Summer Externship Program offers work experience to nursing students who have completed their junior year and are entering their senior year of nursing school. The externship is unpaid. Externships are offered during the summer and take place at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, and The Stewart and Lynda Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital at UCLA. Applicants can choose two specialty areas for their externship. The externship is designed to help nursing students choose a career path in nursing.
Mayo Clinic Summer III Nursing Externship is open to nursing students every summer at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota. Students who are at the Junior level in school may apply. Externs work with clinical coaches as well as RNs in a variety of clinical settings, including working on trauma patients and performing CPR. They are exposed to challenging yet rewarding environments and experiences.
Johns Hopkins Clinical Nurse Externships are offered to nursing students who have completed at least one clinical practicum in an acute-care hospital. The externship includes pay and an opportunity to gain more hands-on experience in performing patient care duties. Applicants must be willing to work at least one shift a week during the school semester. To be eligible to apply, nursing students must have completed their nursing school course work as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing and obtain their CNA certification two weeks prior to the start of the externship.
Cornell University Externship Program is open to college sophomores, juniors and seniors during the winter semester. Externships offer experiential work shadowing opportunities in a wide variety of career fields. The externship allows students to visit Cornell alumni in their work environments, and they can last anywhere from one day to one week. This allows students to observe a particular career field in order to better define their career choices. Sophomores, juniors and seniors from all undergraduate colleges may apply for an externship at Cornell.
Bain & Company offers students who have graduated from college a unique career in corporate strategy consulting. Students who join the Bain team are offered externship positions that allow them to jump start their career through six-month working assignments at other companies where they can pursue different career paths. As Associate Consultants and Senior Associate Consultants, team members have an opportunity to broaden their consulting knowledge at consumer product companies, international think tanks, nonprofit charter schools, startup companies, and others. Following a six-month externship, consultants return to Bain with increased skills as a consultant and enhanced knowledge of other industries.
Penn State Hershey Student Nurse Externships are ten-week programs for nursing students entering their senior year. The externships give nursing students an opportunity to work directly with the nursing team at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. This paid externship is offered during the summer. Up to 35 qualified students will be hired. To qualify, students should have a grade point average of 3.0 or above and be in their senior year of nursing school. The externships are full-time and provide nursing experience in the areas of Patient Care Assistant and Patient Sitter.
IRS Legal Externships are offered to law students who are about to graduate or have already graduated from law school. This program is a non-paid, volunteer externship. Externship applications are accepted throughout the year. Eligible students must be in good standing with their law school and be enrolled in a law school that is accredited by the American Bar Association. Externs will have an opportunity to gain valuable work experience and learn from Chief Counsel attorneys.
