The Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is offering a 10-week Summer Nurse Externship for bachelor's degree nursing students entering their senior year. The program includes a two-week orientation with classroom and clinical components, where nurse externs perform basic bedside care and selected nursing procedures. Qualified candidates must be nursing students in a BSN program graduating between Fall 2021 and Spring 2022. The position may require a Post Offer Employment Physical Exam, and Penn State Health is committed to diversity and equal opportunity in employment.

It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships are a great way for law students at Georgetown University to experience working in law within the public sector. Training external to the classroom is available through the unpaid externship program that allows students to work in various work environments. Students accepted into the externship program may choose to work for the federal government, on the Hill, in judicial chambers, or in local or national non-profit agencies. The externship is unpaid.
