YAI is offering an unpaid Speech Language Pathologist Internship for graduate program students, focusing on evaluating, planning, and providing speech therapy for pediatric and adult patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The internship includes training on home therapeutic programs, using electronic health records, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to enhance patient quality of life. Candidates should have prior clinical experience from school clinics or externships. The role offers an opportunity for course credit, subject to approval by the student's educational institution. It fills the experience requirement for students when they apply for a residency. The externship is different than just observing. Externships provide real, hands-on work experience for medical students. Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations. All extern duties are done at a hospital under the supervision of a U.S. licensed attending physician.

Christiana Care Health System Student Nurse Externships are offered to students enrolled in a nursing program and pursuing a career as a Registered Nurse.
