Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program, aimed at students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The externship provides hands-on emergency medicine experience, including patient care, lab work, triaging, and collaboration in a fast-paced environment. Participants choose the length and location of their externship, receiving mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians. Applicants must begin their externship within six months of applying and meet rabies vaccination requirements as per their school's policy. This opportunity is exclusive to veterinary technology/nursing students, not veterinary or veterinary assistant students.
