Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The externship, which is unpaid and requires rabies vaccination, provides hands-on experience in emergency veterinary medicine, including patient care, lab work, and triage. Externs receive mentorship from experienced veterinary nurses and can customize the length and location of their externship. The program is exclusive to vet tech/nursing students and not open to veterinary or veterinary assistant students. Applications are open for externships beginning within 6 months.
