The Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides practical experience in emergency veterinary medicine, emphasizing skills like patient vitals, lab sample processing, and triage in a fast-paced environment. Externs benefit from mentorship by experienced veterinary nurses and have the flexibility to choose their externship length and location. Rabies vaccination is required, with exemptions based on school policies. This opportunity is specifically for veterinary technology/nursing students, with applications open for externships starting within the next six months.
