Student Nurse Extern Summer Opportunities at the University of Missouri Health Care offer a 12-week program for nursing students close to graduation, providing valuable clinical experience. Successful candidates may transition into an advanced nurse tech role and gain special consideration for Graduate Nurse positions. Compensation includes $19.09/hour plus $2/hour shift differentials for nights, weekends, and evenings. The application deadline is February 2, 2024, with interviews on February 21-22, and the externship begins on May 20, 2024, lasting 12 weeks. Applicants must be within one year of graduation from an accredited nursing school, have a minimum GPA of 2.5, and hold AHA BLS certification.

Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge.
