Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for vet tech/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. The program focuses on developing emergency skills such as patient vitals, laboratory processing, and patient care, under the mentorship of experienced veterinary technicians. Open to students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs, the externship provides flexibility in length and location. It is an unpaid opportunity, requiring rabies vaccination in line with school policies.
