Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on emergency medicine experience, including patient care, laboratory work, and triage in a fast-paced environment. Externs receive mentorship from credentialed veterinary nurses and can customize the externship length and location to meet academic requirements. Rabies vaccination is mandatory unless exempted by the school's policy. The opportunity is exclusive to vet tech/nursing students, not for veterinary or veterinary assistant students.
