Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a comprehensive Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for vet tech/nursing students to gain practical experience in emergency medicine. Participants will develop critical skills in patient vitals assessment, laboratory sample processing, patient care, and emergency case triage, under the guidance of experienced veterinary nurses. The program, emphasizing a customer-first and employee-centric approach, provides flexible externship lengths and locations, catering to students in AVMA accredited programs. Although unpaid, this externship is a valuable opportunity for immersive learning in a dynamic veterinary setting, with a requirement for rabies vaccination as per school policy.
