Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program in the United States, focused on providing hands-on emergency medicine experience. Students, currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, will work alongside credentialed emergency veterinary technicians to gain skills in patient care, lab work, and triage in a fast-paced environment. The program offers flexibility in externship length and location, with mentorship from a VEG Veterinary Nurse. Requirements include being within 6 months of starting the externship and having rabies vaccinations, unless exempted by school policy. This opportunity is exclusive to vet tech/nursing students, not veterinary or veterinary assistant students.
