Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program across the US, providing hands-on emergency medicine experience to vet tech/nursing students. The program emphasizes a customer-first approach and an employee-centric work environment, aiming to create the best experience for both clients and team members. Students gain skills in emergency care, including patient vitals, laboratory procedures, patient care, and triage, mentored by experienced veterinary technicians. Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, rabies vaccination, and externship commencement within six months of application.
