Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students will work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians, focusing on skills like obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and caring for hospitalized pets. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship from experienced professionals. Applicants must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited program, have rabies vaccination (unless exempt per school policy), and begin their externship within 6 months.
