Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses), focusing on skills such as patient vitals, laboratory processing, and patient care. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship and immersion in emergency medicine emphasized. Candidates must be enrolled in an AVMA accredited program, have rabies vaccination, and begin the externship within six months of application.
