Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers a Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA accredited vet tech/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. The program focuses on honing emergency skills, including patient vitals, laboratory samples, patient care, and triaging cases. Externs have flexibility in externship length and location, with mentorship provided by credentialed veterinary technicians. Rabies vaccination is required, and applications are open to students needing externship hours within 6 months.
