Summer 2024 Nursing Externship at Ascension St. John offers PRN scheduling with up to 24 hours per week across multiple locations in Oklahoma. Responsibilities include providing direct nursing care under RN supervision, completing assigned nursing orders, and documenting patient observations. Requirements include BLS certification and enrollment in a nursing program, with preference given to students who have completed at least one semester of clinical rotations. Summer Student Nurse Tech Program is open to nursing students throughout the U.S. The paid work experience program takes place during the summer and gives nursing students an opportunity to gain skills that will be valuable to their nursing career. The program is held every summer at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. The program lasts 10 weeks during which students will be trained for a career as a Nurse Tech. Every year about 50 nursing students from around the country are accepted into the program which includes educational sessions from all areas of specialty.
