Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, focusing on skills such as obtaining patient vitals, processing laboratory samples, and triaging cases. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship from credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses). Applicants must be vaccinated for rabies, and the externship must commence within 6 months of application.
