Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. Students work alongside credentialed Veterinary Nurses, gaining skills in patient care, triage, and collaboration in a customer-focused environment. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with a focus on mentorship and immersion in emergency medicine. Rabies vaccination is required, unless exempt per school policy.

Externships give students a chance to increase their skill set and prepare for a career in nursing. Externs will work in one of the world’s largest academic medical centers. They will work with physicians, allied professionals and other nurses in an environment where they can exchange ideas and increase their medical knowledge. Programs are offered in the Spring, Summer and Fall. Oregon Tax Court Externships are offered to both law students and paralegal students who have completed at least one full year (law) or half (paralegal) of their schooling. Externships are available in the Spring, Summer and Fall for law students and throughout the year for paralegals.
