Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. The program focuses on honing emergency skills such as patient care, triaging, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment. Students have flexibility in the length and location of the externship, with mentorship provided by credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses). Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA accredited program, rabies vaccination, and externship commencement within 6 months of application.
