Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technician/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine across its nationwide hospital network. With a focus on fostering a customer-first mentality and an employee-centric work environment, VEG aims to revolutionize emergency medicine. The program allows students to hone their emergency skills under the mentorship of credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses) and offers flexibility in externship length and location. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program and have rabies vaccinations, with externships starting within six months of application.
