Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program, providing hands-on emergency medicine experience for vet tech/nursing students. Participants work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (Veterinary Nurses), focusing on skills such as patient care, triage, and laboratory procedures. Flexibility in externship length and location is provided, with mentorship and immersion in emergency medicine emphasized. Requirements include enrollment in an accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, vaccination for rabies, and externship initiation within six months.
