Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA-accredited veterinary technology/nursing students, providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. The program, located across the United States, emphasizes a customer-first mentality and employee-centric work environment, reflected in its nomination for INC Magazine's Best Places to Work. Externs gain skills in emergency care, including patient vitals, laboratory processing, and patient care, with flexibility in externship length and location. Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited program, with rabies vaccination required, and the externship must commence within six months of application.
