Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid externship program for veterinary technology/nursing students aimed at providing hands-on experience in emergency medicine. With a focus on fostering a customer-first mentality and an employee-centric work environment, VEG strives to create a safe and valued experience for both pets and employees. The externship allows students to hone their emergency skills under the mentorship of credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses), with flexibility in duration and location based on school requirements and hospital availability. Requirements include enrollment in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program, rabies vaccination, and the externship must begin within 6 months of application.
