Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA-accredited vet tech/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. The program focuses on honing essential skills such as patient care, laboratory procedures, and triage, emphasizing an employee-centric work environment. Flexible in length and location, the externship provides mentorship from experienced veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses) and requires rabies vaccination unless exempt under school policy. Applications are open to eligible students within six months of starting their externship.
