Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA-accredited vet tech/nursing students, providing hands-on emergency medicine experience. The program emphasizes a customer-first approach and an employee-centric work environment, aiming to create a safe and valued space for both pets and employees. Externs work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians (VEG Veterinary Nurses), focusing on emergency skills like triaging cases and caring for hospitalized patients. Flexibility is provided in externship length and location, with rabies vaccination required unless exempted by school policy.
