Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, focusing on skills like patient vitals, laboratory samples, and patient care in a fast-paced environment. Students have flexibility in the length and location of their externship and must be vaccinated for rabies, unless exempt per their school's policy.

Externs will work with an attending physician and perform clinical duties such as assessing patient histories and performing physical examinations.
