Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing students seeking hands-on emergency medicine experience. Students work alongside credentialed veterinary technicians, focusing on skills like obtaining patient vitals, processing lab samples, and triaging cases. Flexibility is key, allowing students to choose externship length and location, with mentorship provided. Rabies vaccination is required, unless exempted by the school's policy.
