Bucknell University Externship Program
Bucknell University Externship Program offers short-term workplace experiences to Bucknell students in their sophomore year. The externships are unpaid and not for credit.
Bucknell University's Career Development Center offers the two-day externships as a way for students to preview their careers early in college. This gives students more of an opportunity to define their career choices before declaring a major. The externships consist of placing students in hosting companies where they can shadow experienced professionals and gain a better understanding of what they do on a day-to-day basis.
Externships take place over two days during winter break. Positions vary and include opportunities within business, non-profit organizations, health care companies, finance and engineering and much more. A student interested in health care, for example, may choose an externship at a local hospital. During their shadowing experience, they may accompany a physician on patient rounds, talk with residents and nurses, interview various doctors, and tour the hospital and emergency room.
College sophomores interested in participating in the externship program may contact the university's Career Development Center for more information.
The location is usually in PENNSYLVANIA.
