Animal Medical Center Externships
Animal Medical Center Externships are available to veterinary students who are in their third or fourth year of veterinary school. Eligible students must be in good academic standing at an AVMA accredited school of Veterinary Medicine.
The externship is a shadowing or observational opportunity for students to learn about veterinary hospital care policies and procedures. The externship includes lectures, medical rounds and continuing education seminars. Externs will also be able to see experienced veterinarians at work in delivering veterinary services such as critical care and emergency, internal medicine, oncology, neurology, pathology, rehabilitation and surgery.
Externships are up to four weeks long and offer opportunities for students to interact with clinicians, interns, residents and technicians. Externships take place at the Animal Medical Center in New York.
The Animal Medical Center is a leading veterinary medicine teaching facility and a leading animal care provider since 1910. They provide comprehensive animal care as well as research to advance medical practices and treatments.
