Memphis Choices Medical Externship

Memphis Choices Medical Externship offers externships to Medical Assistant Students. It is open to students whose career plans are to provide basic medical support to lab techs, nurse practitioners, and doctors.

This externship will remain open until it is filled. The amount of time externs must devote to the position is based on education program requirements. Memphis Choices also has a paid opening for a Full time Medical Assistant. Work will include working with medical and administrative personnel, reviewing charts, drawing blood, giving injections, prepping exam rooms, assisting in office procedures, and interacting with patients.

The Medical Assistant may also perform CLIA-waived diagnostic testing in chemistry, hematology, and immune-hematology as needed, along with other designated laboratory support functions. Candidates must have experience in OB/GYN or Women’s Health, have a High School diploma or equivalent; graduate of Medical Assistant training program is preferred.

Memphis Choices offers many other positions in the medical field, including RN, and PRN. Students interested in an externship are encouraged to search the web site regularly for externship postings as they become available.

Choices now provides a full gynecology practice along with a range of sexual and reproductive health services for more than 6,000 women, men, and teens each year.
