The job involves an 8-week paid summer externship program for rising senior nursing students, where they are mentored in two clinical areas. Participants assist with patient care, practice nursing skills, and attend professional development conferences. The program aims to boost confidence and readiness for clinical practice, requiring candidates to have completed an Adult Care clinical rotation, maintain a GPA of 2.75 or above, and possess AHA-BLS HCP certification. Participants must work required hours without overtime if already employed at Carilion Clinic.
