Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing programs. The program provides hands-on emergency medicine experience, including patient care, triaging, and laboratory work, under the guidance of credentialed veterinary nurses. Externs can customize their experience in terms of duration, location, and focus, with a requirement for rabies vaccination unless exempted by school policy.
