The King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office offers a Legal Extern Program in their Criminal Division for second or third-year law students. This unpaid, quarter/semester-long externship provides hands-on experience in criminal law, trial practice, and may include legal research, witness interviews, and trial support. Candidates must have a keen interest in criminal law, basic legal and writing skills, and be willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Externs will gain valuable insights into the office's diverse divisions and commitment to justice, integrity, and community service. Law school credit is available for the program, with interviews scheduled for December 2023.
