Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) offers an unpaid Veterinary Technician/Nurse Student Externship Program for students enrolled in an AVMA accredited veterinary technology/nursing program. The externship provides hands-on experience in emergency medicine, allowing students to develop skills in patient care, laboratory work, and triage in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility in externship length and location is offered, along with mentorship from experienced veterinary nurses. Applicants must begin their externship within six months of application and be rabies vaccinated, unless exempted by school policy. This opportunity is exclusive to veterinary technology/nursing students, not veterinary or assistant students.
